One of our aims is to extend the Kingdom of Christ among lads and girls and to encourage faithful membership of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa.
The Church Lads’ Brigade, founded by Walter Gee in the United Kingdom in 1891 and the Church Girls’ Brigade, founded by Rev. Thomas Milner in 1901, were united in 1978.

Brigade days and band practises can be any weekday (some will have Monday evenings, Tuesday evenings and some even on Sunday afternoons as well as band practises) and Parade Sundays any Sunday of the month.
Companies are encouraged to draw up a monthly of quarterly program which would include drill, bible study, games, visitations and outreach, including environmental affairs like clean-ups, bring-and-braai, etc.
Company totals varies from between 20 and 80.
We have members from other denominations active in our companies and promotions to members from other denominations is given up to the rank of Sergeant.

In 2019 George Regiment together with the Regiments of False Bay, Cape Town and Saldanha Bay celebrated the 125th Anniversary at the Cathedral Church of St George’s, Cape Town with The Most Reverend Dr. Thabo Makgoba as the Presider and Preacher and in 2024 we celebrated our 130th Anniversary.  We look forward to many more celebrations together.
