A Message of Blessing and Congratulations to the Rt Revd. Edwin Desmond Pockpass, 9th Bishop of the Diocese of George
On this blessed occasion, the Diocese of George joins together in giving thanks to Almighty God for the life, ministry and episcopal leadership of our Bishop, the Rt Revd. Edwin Desmond Pockpass, as he celebrates the 3rd Anniversary of his Consecration as the 9th Bishop of the Diocese of George.
Bishop Edwin, we give thanks to God for the gift of your ministry among us and for the years in which you have faithfully served Christ, His Church and the people entrusted to your pastoral care. Your episcopal ministry continues to be a journey of faith, service, prayer, leadership and commitment to the mission of God.
As you continue to exercise the ministry entrusted to you through your consecration, may the Holy Spirit continually strengthen and guide you. May God grant you wisdom to lead, courage to serve, compassion to shepherd, humility to listen, and grace to discern God’s will for our Diocese.
We pray that your ministry may continue to bear fruit as together we seek to build up the Body of Christ, strengthen our communities, nurture our young people, care for those who are vulnerable, and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ.
May the words of St Paul encourage you as you continue in your episcopal vocation:
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.”
