DIOCESAN NOTICE
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ
Grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of The Revd Canon Sidwell Thelejani, who entered into the nearer presence of our Lord on Tuesday afternoon at the age of 96.
We give thanks to Almighty God for Canon Sidwell’s long and faithful ministry, his dedicated service to Christ and His Church, and the many lives he touched throughout his years of ministry. We commend him into God’s eternal keeping and uphold Catherine and his entire family and loved ones in our prayers.
The Diocese of George invites all clergy and laity to gather for a Requiem Mass in thanksgiving for Canon Sidwell’s life and witness.

We also ask your prayers for Ivy Matthews, the beloved wife of The Very Revd. Dr. Basil Matthews, who remains in hospital in a critical condition.
This is a deeply difficult time for Dean Basil and their family. As a diocesan family, let us surround both the Thelejani and Matthews families with our love, our prayers, and our support, trusting always in the promises of Christ.
