The Diocese of George Mothers’ Union warmly invites all parishioners, Mothers’ Union members, clergy, families, and friends to join us as we celebrate Mary Sumner Day, giving thanks for the life and legacy of Mary Sumner, founder of the Mothers’ Union, and for the faithful witness of this worldwide movement of Christian care for families.
This special Eucharistic celebration will take place on Saturday, 15 August 2026, at St Mark’s Cathedral, George, with The Right Revd. Bishop Edwin Pockpass serving as both Celebrant and Preacher.
This year’s celebration also marks an exciting milestone as the Mothers’ Union prepares to commemorate 150 years of Faith in Action Worldwide, celebrating a remarkable legacy of prayer, outreach, and service that continues to transform lives across the globe.
Come and be part of this joyful diocesan celebration as we unite in prayer, give thanks for God’s faithfulness, and recommit ourselves to the mission of Christ through the ministry of the Mothers’ Union.
