Message of condolences on the death of Pope Francis
“Dear Bishop Noel and the Diocese of Oudtshoorn.
We mourn the passing of Pope Francis, a humble shepherd who led the Church with love, mercy, and compassion. His words brought Christ into the modern world, reminding us to live with kindness, humility, and hope. We thank God for his life and papacy, and trust in the Resurrection, knowing he rests in the Lord’s peace. May eternal light shine upon him.
Pope Francis was a voice for peace in a world gearing up for war, a champion of social justice, and an advocate for the poor and marginalized. His legacy will inspire Catholics and non-Catholics alike, and his commitment to interfaith dialogue, environmental stewardship, and compassion will continue to guide us.
We offer condolences to the Catholic Church and to all those who mourn the loss of this beloved spiritual leader. May his memory inspire us to work towards a more just and compassionate world.
Rest in peace, Pope Francis.”
